As part of the INTERACTIVE GARDENS project, the historic traditions of the manor park in Vircava, Jelgava region, are being revived with a modern, interactive twist. Designed as a cozy oasis, the garden seamlessly blends rich heritage with the sweet scents of fruits, berries, and blossoms.
Aromatic and juicy orchard: As you stroll through the park, classic and beloved apple varieties (‘Auksis’, ‘Kovalenkovskoye’, ‘Sīpoliņš’, ‘Anis’), juicy pears, and sweet cherries will delight both your eyes and palate. In sunny nooks of the garden, fragrant quince bushes are ripening to perfection.
A paradise for berry lovers: Along the garden paths, visitors are greeted by a rich variety of berry bushes – from highbush blueberries (‘Patriot’, ‘Chandler’) and delicious Haskap berries (honeyberries) to blackcurrants, redcurrants, and whitecurrants. This is the ultimate spot to savor the authentic taste of summer and autumn berries, fresh off the bush!
Inviting paths and scenic serenity: A thoughtfully designed network of gravel and woodchip paths meanders through the garden, allowing visitors to comfortably explore the entire park while taking in the well-manicured tree bases and lush green lawns.
We invite everyone to plan a trip to Kroņvircava and take a leisurely stroll along the park paths, enjoy the vibrant blooms of trees and berry bushes in spring, and taste the abundant harvest throughout summer and autumn!
