Šajā vietā 1919. g. 22. marta kaujai bija ļoti liela nozīme, jo tā izlīdzināja frontes stāvokli, kurš vācu dēļ bija kļuvis nedrošs, un panāca, ka Zemgales līdzenumā vairs neieplūda sarkano strēlnieku pulki. Piemineklī iekalts uzraksts: „Šeit 1919. g. 22. martā notika 1. atsevišķās Baloža brigādes kauja, kurā krita 10 un ievainoti 28 karavīri“.
The battle of March 22, 1919, at this location was of great importance, as it leveled the front line, which had become unsafe due to the Germans, and ensured that the Red Riflemen no longer entered the Zemgale Plain. The inscription on the monument reads: “Here, on March 22, 1919, the battle of the 1st Separate Baloža Brigade took place, in which 10 soldiers fell and 28 were wounded.”
